St Cuthbert’s Garden Village Consultation 10 November – 22 December 2020 on both the draft Local Plan policies and the draft Strategic Design Supplementary Planning document is going to be digital and can be found at .

The Parish Council has expressed its concerns about the short time for responses in the current unprecedented uncertainty and asked the City Council to consider an extension for response until 31 January 2021.  The Parish Council is also concerned that many Parishioners who do not have access to digital technologies will be excluded from responding.  We have been told there is a detailed summary leaflet that can be requested from the City Council (01228 817200) and that a more simpler summary leaflet will be delivered directly to 9000 households.

The Parish Council’s understanding is that in the Parish potentially 66-83% of the proposed 10,000 new homes will be built in the Durdar area; 9-16% in Carleton; and 9% on the southern edge of Carlisle.

Please contact the Clerk with any comments you would want the Parish Council to consider.

Please also respond as Parishioners directly to this important consultation.

The Parish Council want to co-opt a Parish Councillor for Parklands Ward.  There is also a vacancy in St Cuthbert Without Ward – but local Parishioners have requested a by-election which will be held in May 2021 (Coronavirus means no elections until then).  If you are interested in the vacancy in Parklands Ward please contact the Clerk/RFO.
